“Research lies at the heart of our creativity,” says Professor Oriana Baddeley, dean of research at university of arts London.
Researchintern offers research work for the students, we provide students the opportunity to work with the esteemed researcher who are working in the top research institutes across the world. The research internship is showcased in the website, which profiles some of the university’s pioneering researchers, their projects, published and exhibited work, and research staff. It also includes details of ground-breaking initiatives such as:
Calculating Gram Matrix:Many learning algorithms require calculating the distances between all data points at least once, but quite possibly in every iteration. The distances define a square matrix, which is also known as the Gram matrix or the kernel matrix. If x i and x j are two arbitrary data points, then an element in the Gram matrix K is given as kij = d ( x i ; x j ) , where d is a distance function between the data points, which is typically expected to be a metric. Calculating the matrix in an efficient manner on a single GPU is reasonably straightforward, although there are tricks to it. For instance, if the distance function is the ordinary Euclidean distance, then rewriting the calculation in a linear algebra formulation results in a massive speedup (Li et al., 2010; van de Sande et al., 2011). An open source distributed GPU calculator for different distance functions would be an essential component for many high-performance learning algorithms, and it could lead to a full research paper in an appropriate journal, but partial results may be publishable as short papers.
